Our Values

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding that therapy is a valuable resource for everyone, though its necessity may vary depending on the season of your life. If you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, the effects of trauma, or finding yourself feeling stuck or overwhelmed during a major life transition—such as early adulthood, career disruption, relationship changes, or loss—therapy can provide a steady and compassionate place to begin. Our work often supports clients who are curious about exploring patterns, attachment, and emotional experiences over time, while honoring where you are in your readiness for change.

If you have never experienced therapy but feel drawn to explore it, we invite you to schedule a free 20-minute consultation with us. During this brief conversation, we’ll listen to your concerns and goals, and together, we can determine whether therapy is the right next step on your journey.

  • We operate as an out-of-network, private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. However, we are happy to provide documentation you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Because coverage and benefits vary by plan, we encourage you to confirm your mental health benefits directly with your insurer.

Please follow the steps below to determine your eligibility for reimbursement.

  • Good question! Follow the steps below to get the information you need from your insurance company.

    1. Call your insurance company (you can find their number on your insurance card).

    2. Find out if you have out-of-network benefits. Ask the rep if your plan includes out-of-network benefits for mental health care (specifically for outpatient services at a mental health office).

    3. Find out if you owe a deductible before coverage begins. Ask the rep if you have “a deductible for out-of-network mental health services, and if so, what is the remaining amount I would have to pay before my health plan starts to reimburse me for any fees I pay out-of-pocket?"

    4. Find out how much you will be reimbursed on your plan. Ask the rep for the maximum amount your plan will reimburse for mental health service code 90834 with a professional counselor.

  • Most likely, yes! In your free 20-minute consultation, you’ll discuss your current concerns, situation, and goals, and the clinician you meet with will determine whether she or another clinician (whether at Wilde or elsewhere) is a good fit to help you. Our team is equipped to deal with a wide range of concerns, but will refer you to another therapist when appropriate. We want you to receive the best support possible, whether you work with us or another clinician.

  • In your first full session (not your 20-minute consultation), your therapist will ask you questions about your mental health, family history, life circumstances, and why you wanted to come into therapy. These questions are not intended to overwhelm, but for us to gain context about your current struggles and goals, helping us better understand how to support you.

  • Each session is typically 50–55 minutes long. While some clients come in seeking short-term support around a specific concern, many of the clients we work with are interested in more in-depth, longer-term therapy that allows space to explore underlying patterns and foster meaningful, lasting change. Your therapist will collaborate with you to determine the pace and length of therapy, ensuring the process feels supportive, intentional, and aligned with your goals.

  • Yes, confidentiality is very important to our team at Wilde Counseling. Any information you share will be kept between you and your therapist. That said, there are a few exceptions to this rule, which your therapist will discuss in your first session.

  • Online therapy can be an excellent fit for some individuals, while others may find it more challenging to connect in a virtual space. If you’re unsure, we can explore this together during your 20-minute consultation. It is important to us that your therapy experience is both supportive and comfortable.

  • We work with individuals of all ages, from adolescents to young adults and beyond, though we do not currently provide services for children. Each of our therapists brings specialized expertise in working with specific age groups and concerns. We encourage you to explore their bios to find the right fit before scheduling a consultation.

  • Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” that helps you understand the anticipated cost of your care. This estimate is available to clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance, offering transparency around fees before services begin.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    •  If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 404-624-6122.
