Our Approach: Relationship Over Business

At Wilde Counseling, we believe therapy is fundamentally about relationship, not transactions. We prioritize getting to know you as a whole person, creating a safe space where you can explore your inner world, process difficult experiences, and discover new ways of being in relationship with yourself and others.

Our commitment goes beyond the therapy room. We pursue ongoing consultation, supervision, and training to ensure we're providing ethical, evidence-based care grounded in the latest understanding of how healing happens. We value being connected to the larger therapist community and prioritize our own mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, because balanced, healthy therapists provide better care.

Evidence Based Therapeutic Approaches

We integrate several evidence-based modalities tailored to your unique needs and goals:

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) works with your brain's natural healing processes to reprocess traumatic memories and distressing experiences that have become stuck.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) offers a compassionate framework for understanding the different parts of yourself and developing healthier internal relationships.

Somatic Experiencing recognizes that trauma and stress live in your body, not just your mind. This approach works with the physical sensations and patterns held in your nervous system.

Polyvagal Theory provides a framework for understanding how your nervous system responds to safety and threat, empowering you to work with your body rather than against it.

Attachment-Focused Therapy explores how your early relationships shaped your sense of safety, worth, and connection, recognizing that relational wounds require relational healing.

AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) emphasizes the transformational power of positive emotions and healing through emotionally engaged relationships.

Who We Serve in Atlanta

We work with adults, young adults, couples, and LGBTQ individuals who are ready to do the meaningful work of therapy. Whether you're a young professional navigating your twenties and thirties, working through past experiences, seeking deeper self-understanding, or looking to strengthen your relationship, we provide affirming, knowledgeable support tailored to your journey.

Many of our clients are women in their mid-twenties to thirties navigating the transitions and pressures unique to this life stage. We understand the challenges of establishing careers, managing relationships, confronting societal expectations, and discovering who you are beneath the roles you've adopted.

For LGBTQ individuals, we offer affirming support from therapists who understand your specific experiences and create space for exploration without requiring you to educate or explain yourself constantly.

What to Expect: Starting Therapy at Wilde Counseling

Beginning therapy starts with a free 20-minute consultation call. This conversation allows you to share what brings you to therapy, ask questions, and determine whether we're a good fit for working together. There's no pressure—finding the right therapeutic relationship matters more than starting quickly.

Once you decide to move forward, our onboarding process is simple and stress-free. We prioritize making the practical aspects of starting therapy as easy as possible, so you can focus your energy on the work itself.

The early phase of therapy focuses on establishing safety and stability in the therapeutic relationship. This foundation is crucial before diving into deeper work. We'll collaborate to identify your goals, understand your patterns, and begin developing tools for managing distress.

Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or biweekly at the start of therapy, providing the consistency needed for real change to occur. We schedule at least a month in advance to ensure continuity of care, though you can always change or reschedule as needed.

We take a balanced approach to homework. While we may suggest practices or exercises when appropriate and helpful, we don't believe in overwhelming you with assignments. The work of therapy happens both within sessions and in how you live your life between meetings.

While we don't provide emergency or around-the-clock services, we can serve as a bridge to appropriate resources if you need additional support between sessions.
