Kristen is a passionate and dedicated therapist who holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in trauma therapy from Richmont Graduate University. With experience in various clinical settings, including inpatient and residential units for women with trauma co-occurring disorders, as well as a recovery home for women recovering from sexual exploitation and addiction, Kristen brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to her private practice.
Specializing in recovery from childhood abuse, neglect, and complex trauma/PTSD, Kristen is passionate about guiding individuals on their journey to healing. Kristen’s approach is rooted in the belief that healing is a holistic process, paying close attention to how trauma affects the nervous system. She also enjoys helping clients facing struggles with anxiety, depression, attachment wounds, dating and relationship issues, family of origin concerns, life transitions, and working with those in helping professions, including therapists, missionaries, and non profit workers.
Trained in attachment-focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) by the EMDR Institute, Kristen incorporates this powerful method into her work. In addition, she is currently undergoing training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and has received advanced training in the treatment of complex trauma, including continuing education in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy and Dynamic Attachment Repatterning experience (DARe). She is committed to ongoing professional development that offers a comprehensive approach to treatment that addresses both the mind and body.
Outside the therapy room, Kristen enjoys hiking, good coffee, traveling abroad, trying to keep her plants alive, and practicing Spanish. With a warm and professional demeanor, Kristen is committed to creating a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their experiences, harness their inner wisdom, and foster growth.
